The squaring of the circle – or how sustainably do we think? Act? Design? How do we respond to societal changes through our products, processes, and design?

When is a circle truly round?
BY THE END OF MAY
"What if cities could produce much of what they need themselves – using what is already there: leftover materials, waste, and the possibilities of new technologies?"
By the end of may, a Lisbon-based studio, explores how local production and circular processes can contribute to an economy beyond mass consumption and alienation. An experiment in shaping a self-sufficient, sustainable future – local, connected, open.
Why Society? Why BY THE END OF MAY?
Our collaboration with BY THE END OF MAY builds on our previous work at interzum two years ago but goes further: initial ideas are now being turned into concrete products, such as acoustic panels made from Interprint's own paper waste. – like acoustic panels made from Interprint’s own paper waste. Not a prototype, not a concept for the archives, but a result that will actually be used – right here at Interprint. Recycling, in this case, is more than reuse – it becomes the starting point for a design approach that takes circularity seriously. Because when is a cycle truly complete? When something new emerges from the old – and lasts. For us, sustainability means responsibility: for materials, and for the way we collaborate.
Welcome back, BY THE END OF MAY.
