What if materials could reveal their own story?

GUSTAVO DALINHA

Brazil-born artist and designer Gustavo Dalinha works at the intersection of continental borders, cultural flow and surface expression. Raised on the frontier between Brazil and Uruguay, he developed a practice marked by crossing boundaries – between nations, materials and visual languages.

His work explores texture, matter and the line: the subtle trace that travels, divides and connects.

For IP25, Dalinha's approach offers a unique dimension: his surfaces aren't just decorative-they become portals to hidden structures, layered histories and tactile narratives.

Why Material? Why Gustavo Dalinha?

Dalinha questions the conventional design process by letting geometry, texture and pattern evolve rather than imposing them. This aligns with IP25's mission to rethink surfaces as living systems – rather than finished objects. By partnering with Dalinha, we gain access to a mindset that blends craft, algorithmic thinking and material sensitivity-enabling surfaces that grow, shift and reveal more than meets the eye.
